Hot rolled plate is a type of sheet steel made on hot rolled machines. Products with a minimum thickness of 1 mm are produced. The maximum size of a euro sheet is 250 mm. Hot-rolled plate is manufactured and used according to the conditions specified in the ASTM A516 standard.

Steel grades from which hot-rolled sheet is made:

Characteristics and distribution of cold rolled steel plate
Cold-rolled sheet is a type of rolled metal that is formed from a hot-rolled billet processed at low temperatures using a cold-drawing mill. European slabs are produced with a minimum thickness of 0.4 mm, and can reach a size of 3 mm.
A cold-rolled sheet is produced from steels that are more ductile than hot-rolled products, which are easier to weld, which contributes to the smooth processing of the steel sheet. Such a euro plate is a suitable basis for the production of coated rolled products. Cold rolled sheets are produced in accordance with the specification EN 10130.

The advantages of cold rolled plates include:

• increased resistance to deformation during welding;
• strength sufficient for significant loads;
• absence of oxidation products on the material when interacting with air;
• full compliance with dimensional indicators.

Properties and fields of application of European hot-dip galvanized sheet
Hot-dip galvanized plate is a zinc-coated steel product manufactured in specialized hot-rolled plants. Galvanizing can be applied on one or both sides of the board. Coating and sheet metal galvanized according to EN 10346 are regulated. The thinnest sheet has a size of 0.3 mm, its maximum possible thickness is 4 mm.

The main purpose of hot-dip zinc coating is to protect:

• anti-corrosion;
• electrochemical.

The advantage of a hot-dip galvanized plate is the presence of a buffer layer of the coating, which is an alloy of two metals, formed during hot-dip galvanizing under the influence of increased temperature indicators. This feature allows the euro sheet to remain protected from corrosion even in the event of destruction of the zinc coating.

Galvanizing stages:

• roasting of steel sheet;
• molten zinc coating;
• treatment in a passivating solution;
• oiling the sheet.

Factors on which the thickness of the galvanized layer depends:
application area;
humidity of the environment in which the European sheet (plate) is supposed to be used.
