A hexagon is a metal product in the form of a bar with a cross-section in the form of an equilateral polygon. The main area of use is the production of fasteners (bolts, nuts, studs).
Thanks to such qualities as the strength and rigidity of the profile, it becomes possible to use reinforced concrete structures as a reinforcing component in construction. Railings, fences, fences and other welded structures can also be made from hexagons.

Mechanical, chemical and technological properties of hexagons depend on the manufacturing method, type of subsequent processing, steel grade.
Methods for the production of hexagons are hot and cold rolling. By the type of surface treatment, stainless hexagons can be:
- hot-rolled (hot-rolled) - heated for the procedure. They can be up to 100 mm in size. Requires surface treatment to remove scale;
- calibrated - processed cold (below the recrystallization temperature). Calibrated hexagons can be up to 3 mm in diameter. They have increased accuracy and good surface quality;
- forged - a special type of metalwork processing carried out by means of pressure. Forging can be hot or cold. Forged hexagons have high strength rates and are used to create building structures, as well as parts for working under pressure.
The rolling precision of the hexagon affects the applications. They are made of normal and high precision. Sections with increased accuracy are used in areas where precision and full compliance with dimensions are required (for example, in mechanical engineering for the production of parts and parts of devices).
The dimensions of the hexagons are diameter and length. The diameter (in the specifications is indicated as a size) can reach 100 mm. The length can be measured and unmeasured, ranging from 2 to 6.5 m. At the request of the customer, it is possible to produce a rod with a length of 1.2-12 m.
To improve the quality of the top layer of the product and increase resistance to mechanical damage, as well as to protect the steel profile from corrosion, a procedure such as chemical, thermal or mechanical surface treatment is carried out.
The materials of manufacture are carbon, alloyed or unalloyed steels. The choice of alloys is based on standards that define the purpose of use, chemical composition and mechanical properties of steels for hexagons.
